I also found some rather good vegan harnesses as www.smittenkittenonline.com. The website has an icon to indicate each item that is cruelty-free.

I found the site in "Bitch" magazine... excellent feminist literature, by the way.

I don't plug or like veganerotica.com, although that's do to with the current owner, not the (good) quality of the gear.

The store's owner has attacked me online and slandered my business, including telling people that I am selling illegal condoms that are not approved by the FDA. Um, what the fuck? I've never even met her or had any kind of interaction with her. Can she just not handle that she's not the only vegan running an adult business, so she has to slam her "competition"? Ugh, grow up, lady.

Huh? Why on earth would she do that? You'd think that like-minded people would want to encourage similar efforts. How did you find out she was saying these things?

I'm guessing she just can't stand the "competition", even though we don't even sell the same items.

She authored a ranty post about my company on the hugely popular SG forums (it showed up in my traffic stats), which they actually deleted. Deleted! - a site that defiantly allows racist rants and wet dreams of genocide to remain on its pages - knew that her post was actionable defamation and it was best to remove it.

I've also heard from a couple of mutual acquaintances that she's bad-mouthed my sites to other people. Whatever. I'm not going to get upset about it, but I'm surely not going to recommend her company.

Oh, and on a more constructive note, I love the vegan harnesses from Aslan Leather: http://www.aslanleather.com/catalog/ I've had the Black Cat two-strap for years, it's so pretty.

At some point, I plan to start carrying them in my store. I suppose some vegans might be put off by it being made by a small company that does leather primarily, but I don't see it as any stranger than buying anything from any other non-vegan company. Plus, Aslan has added more vegan stuff over the years, which I think is great.

Oooh, thanks for the link!
I have a problem buying from a lot of companies based on their advertising, which often reinforces stereotypes, objectifies models, and perpetuates the concept of one "ideal" body type. I love how this company uses people of different body types, and who actually appear to have personalities!
While I still hesitate at supporting something with a name like Aslan Leather, I think it's important to encourage mostly-leather companies to stat carrying more vegan products. I see it this way: No company is going to consider throwing in the towel entirely because of vegan boycotts, but based on their customers they are quite likely to put more resources into alternatives. And Aslan Leather has entire sections of vegan fare!
Forgive me for sounding like one of their PR people, but I'm always excited to find any porn or sex store that I can get behind.

Oh, and to Furry Girl: I would be delighted if you started carrying this in your store; I would be much more eager to purchase something of this brand than, say, California Exotic Novelties.
