Default [Sex+Porn] Imprisoned pornographers

I heard some time ago, that American pornographers have been prosecuted and jailed. Among them Max Hardcore and some guy who did scat porn, and I also think a company with the name Extreme in it, has been prosecuted. I have read about them, and seen some Max Hardcore stuff, and if there is any porn I really dislike, then it is where the people involved seem to, or for real, don't enjoy what they are doing. So it's not like I'm crying for them locked up, but how do you look at this regarding free speach, other porn business etc?

Also just saw that UK also are making/implementing new laws, and according to an article, UK will have the toughest porn laws in Europe.

I don't really follow Max Hardcore's stuff, but unless I had information that he was exploiting models, I'm not going to say I'm against it. You can't judge the working conditions under which a product is created by looking at the end product- even if violence fetish porn isn't what turns me on. As much as people flip out over the violence niche, I like to remind people that the one company that has more allegations of mistreating models than any other remains Suicide Girls. I don't know whether any of that is true or not, but it serves as an important reminder that you cannot tell whether a model was treated with respect by management by looking at how the content is marketed. Looking at a cup of coffee, you can't tell if it's fair trade or not, right?

I saw Rob Zicari (Rob Black) of Extreme Associates speak in 2006, and although his style lacked, well, the sort of political nuance I'd include if I were being prosecuted for obscenity, I still appreciate the guy. He was on stage at a porn convention saying stuff like, "Bring it on, fuckers, I'm not going away and I'll never take a deal" to law enforcement. I respect that, I really do. In an age where almost anyone charged with any crime immediately tries to broker a deal and blame their friends for their actions to get a lighter sentence, here's this abrasive pornographer giving the feds the finger and standing up for himself. The world lacks that.

Janine, convicted of tax evasion, has a support site: http://www.freejanine.com/ She's either a) not yet serving time or b) not serving time as "Janine Lindemulder", since the Bureau of Prisons doesn't have her listed or an address for her.

There's also the Rose Red lady, but I haven't really followed that, either.

I remember when writing this, that I also found a site that was a bout an anti porn documentary. In the trailer, there was a scene with Joanna Angel from Burning Angel, but I forgot to save the link to the site and can't find it. Does anyone know which one it is? And what other documentaries can you recommend, pro and anti porn...

You're likely thinking of "The Price of Pleasure".

I know someone who somehow managed to get a copy, I must prod her again about adding it to torrent sites. (It costs $200 or something for showing in university women's studies courses and whatnot.) There were a few public screenings, some of which were attended by sex workers.

Documentary-wise, I really haven't seen much. I've seen more films about other forms of sex work.

Here's the lineup from this year's Sex Worker Fest: http://www.sexworkerfest.com/swfest2...ovies2009.html My favorite (I only saw about half of them), was "A Safer Sex Trade" from Canada.

It could be it. When I saw the trailer that time, there was a scene with Joanna Angel, sucking cock and saying something with "Daddy" to the guy. There wasn't that part in this trailer, but I'll check the whole documentary and see. It's available to see on:

The same file can also be downloaded from here:

http://previews.mediaed.org/preview_235.flv

Yesterday I downloaded and saw a documentary with a similar name - "Porn - Business of Pleasure", and she was in that as well, though as a person being interviewed, not as someone to frighten people up regarding the wrong kind of porn...

That one and some other porn/sex documentaries can be downloaded from here:

I just saw the documentary now, and it could have been it. Joanna Angel is both interviewed and in a porn scene, acting as if she was sexually abused as a child. I don't really get the idea with that kind of scenes, otherwise she she made a good impression in the documentary. But the documentary was pretty crappy, many bad arguments, and many fucked up views...
