Default [Veg] Informing bits of Amazon.com

Yeah, FurryGirl...I've noticed on your FAQ page somewhere...with the gifts and stuff...

I'm certain you may already be aware about people boycotting Amazon.com until they drop their "cockfighting/dogfighting/etc" materials.....

Well, here's the link on the info..though a bit outdated..

https://community.hsus.org/campaign/...azon_fighting3

And if one wishes to find such unwanted material...just try typing in such terms...and they'll still have it....

Yeah, my intentions of informing ya on this one FurryGirl....I just wanted you prepared to answer them back sincerely.

As usual, as adults..we're all busy...so just a "HEADS UP" from me.

Anyways...I'll introduce myself on a seperate thread now..

EDIT: I left the "intro" on the title just a few mins ago. So I'm getting that off. As I'll just open my intro on a seperate thread.

Personally, I'd always prefer gifts from a local book shop, but local book shops don't have the resources to provide wishlist features. I use Amazon because it does what I need it to do, and no one is obliged to use it by any means. I've gotten used books sent to me in the mail, as well as books from other stores.

I actually think the campaign against Amazon for selling dogfighting books is stupid and reactionary, meant to capitalize on abuse of cutesy lovable animals. Why is it that dogfighting is the unspeakable sin? Where was the animal rights outrage over Amazon selling books on animal agriculture? Are dogs just more worthy of love and protection than chickens? And what about Amazon selling books written by right-wing authors, racists, anti-abortion fanatics? Any bookstore is going to sell books about something that I could disagree with, but I suppose my response to that issue has never been, "Let's protest that bookseller until they censor their collection the way *I* want it to be censored!" If I did that, I'd have to allow for everyone else to campaign against Amazon for selling books they disagree with. So, Amazon can do away with their dogfighting books, and also their books about atheism, Islam, sex, science, criticism of Bush, books written in languages other than English... it could go on and on. Eventually, there would be nothing left if you remove all the items that offend some group of people, and I acknowledge that even when it's an issue I agree about, like not supporting dogfighting.

*ulp* I just re-read everything I wrote. It seemed rather..."silly?"

Though my intentions against Amazon, was merely not to use it (personally), but after I checked everything around again, I just came to understand, it's just being used as a reference list; and I had no need to even ramble vaguely from...October 5th!

Ah, it's been a while. Other then that..excuse what I even rambled about! >,< =-p
